Dear Bryan, The Home Guard talk and the WVS 'Ladies in Green' talk. It was
a really good day and we got a lot of feedback from people saying how much
they enjoyed it. I was totally fascinated by so much of what you said. I just
hope we get a chance to do something like this again. Thank you so much for
making it such a success. And thanks too to Chris for modelling the Home Guard
uniform and staying so perfectly still! I do hope your Wartime Christmas event
goes well and I wish you... A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Kind

Hello all, I have an urgent request - I need to take a picture for the Cromer
Museum in Norfolk which shows a couple of ladies sitting on a deckchair on
the prom in the 1940's - we have the chair, two models and a makeup and hair
stylist, but we can't find suitable clothes. One lady (age 25-ish size 12)
is wearing culotte shorts with a thin belt and a vest top, or top half of a
40's bathing costume. The other lady (in her 50's & size 18) wears a crew-neck
ribbed long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve knitted top, a box pleat skirt and a pair
of flat lace-up shoes. If anyone can help, or point me in the right direction
to find these or similar items for hire, I would be very grateful indeed. Many
thanks in anticipation, David Guttridge, The Photographic Unit, Norwich. Tel:

As a primary school teacher, I was looking for something a bit different
for my year6 class to experience. Bryan came in, in Homeguard uniform and kept
the class enraptured for over 1 and 1/2 hours. The children didn't know what
to expect, but really enjoyed the session. What was so refreshing was that
by the end they really were unsure whether Corporal Webb was from 1942!! He
stayed in role throughout and has added an extra level of empathy for my class
towards the first and second World Wars. Thanks Bryan - a fantastic experience
which I hope can be repeated.

Hello. We are currently researching for a documentary film project to find
out about the experiences of ethnic minorities during the war for Veterans
ReUnited. If anyone knows anyone who moved to the UK from a commonwealth country
before or during the war and did an auxiliary job within the UK during wartime;
I would be very interested to hear their story. Please email me on sonayozen@yahoo.com

do we not live in England to have an experience like that. It is all so warm

Hello. We are currently researching for a new television project to investigate
a rising trend of young people in the 21st century who live out their lives
in as though they were in the 1940's. This includes mainly fashion, but also
lifestyle, music, furniture etc. If anyone follows this particular trend I
would be very interested to hear their story and why they are passionate about
this era. Please email me on gareth.lemon@talkbackthames.tv
